I believe our homes deserve more than disposable furniture.

Today, we're surrounded by pieces designed to be replaced—pressed wood, thin veneers, short lifespans, and trends that change before the furniture even has a chance to age. There's certainly a place for convenience, but there's also something deeply satisfying about living with objects that were made to last.

​

As an interior architect for nearly three decades, I've spent my career studying how things are built. I notice the grain of old-growth wood. I admire hand-cut joinery, solid drawer boxes, dovetail construction, weight, balance, and craftsmanship. I appreciate brass that develops character instead of peeling, studio pottery shaped by an artist's hands, original artwork that tells a story, and furniture built by people who expected it to serve a family for generations.

Those are the pieces I search for.

Sometimes I leave them exactly as they are. Other times I carefully reimagine them—creating one-of-a-kind pieces like vintage teacup stands or shadowbox displays featuring ethically sourced preserved insects. Every up-cycled creation is made with respect for the original object while giving it a new purpose.

​

There's another reason this matters to me.

Thousands of beautiful pieces of furniture are discarded every day. As generations downsize, incredible craftsmanship is finding its way into landfills—not because it's worn out, but because it's been overlooked.

​

I think that's a shame.

​

I'd rather rescue those pieces, restore them when needed, and help them begin another chapter in someone else's home.

​

Secondhand doesn't mean second best.

​

It means history.
It means character.
It means craftsmanship.
It means sustainability.

It means giving something beautiful another chance to be appreciated.
